“they took his life, but could not take his pride.” Thank you, MLK, for being brave to stand up for freedom and justice. And Thank you, U2, for dedicating this song to a American who made a difference for human rights. God speed.

It’s rather quaint that some young Blacks of today are not aware of the struggle that had to be fought just for what they have today. Although they still have obstacles even today, it was the Black AND white brave men and women of that time who took to the front lines to secure our country as worthy of evolving.
I am white…and I say to all white people, MARTIN LUTHER KING WAS GOD SENT!!!!! YOU DUM CUNTS…DUM CUNTSSSS….HE IS A HOLY MAN,….. A HIGH RANKED SOLDIER IN GODS ARMY!!! A GOOD MAN!!! LONG LIFE TO KINGS!!!!
This song was written by Bono, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Listen to the lyrics of the song. If you didnt know now you know. Be encouraged!
@nonotiiwillsurive you ever been in a union they support workers rights to a fair wage you must live in the south with there slave mentality sure some in the union are corrupt but without unions are wages will be reduced to 0 its already happening around the country
Considered by many to be the greatest rock and roll song ever written, certainly U2′s greatest masterpiece.
Edge creates churchbells with guitar in intro and later in song – listen and enter church.
It is a march, y’know.
All over the world the greatest American is held to be MLKJr, yet many here in America do not know this. Much of the U.S. was raised on racial resentment, the fatal flaw of a great nation. Will we redeem ourselves or succumb to a tea party of poison?

@jupitermercurychild: And that healthcare bill … ha ha ha . Does nothing to address the cost issue. Basically he just made a bunch of insurance and drug companies rich…
@jupitermercurychild: One of the biggest problems I have with obama is his blind support for unions. Unions are the last groups we need to be supporting with their history of corruption, violence and intimidation. And another problem I have with him is his nonsensical ideas about redistribution of wealth. I don’t believe in giving money to unproductive segments of our society and I don’t believe in buying votes … the democrat way.
@jupitermercurychild: Ego? My ego is not threatened. I am not even sure what you are talking about? Who is threatenting egos? Sure, Bush was brainless. He was smart enough to become president. I guess that makes him smarter than Gore and Kerry. Keep thinking that everybody who disagrees with you politically is dumb.
@nonotiiwillsurive you’re entitled to your opinion but I & others will never understand unless you define waht you mean by “his ideology”. At least if you’re specific we can try to understand your position, otherwise it smacks of knee jerk ” i don’t like you because you threaten my ego” nonsense. Strange so many americans find him more scary than ‘brainless Bush’ who was leading you down the primrose path!!
We all can make a difference; just as Martin Luther King did. God bless you ,MLK and God Bless U2 for dedicating this song to him. God Bless the USA.
rest in peace!mr king
